Probably among the top runners, “Birdman” has been praised for its acting, direction and especially cinematography that makes it look like a story on the go.
Moviemaking can be toiling art, and “Boyhood”, which has been shot for over 12 years using same actors, proves that. With a win at the Golden Globe this year, this one can be a praiseworthy champion.
“The Theory of Everything”
Based on the life of Stephan Hawking, this movie had everything- a genuine moving story, inspired performances and great direction.
“The Imitation Game”
This historical thriller has won Benedict Cumberbatch a nomination in the Best Actor category, which certainly keeps its hope high in the race.
Another hard hitting drama, “Selma” is probably great for the way it shows Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life, surrounding the Civil Rights Movement. With commendable performances, this one is hard to ignore.
Based on the book by the same name and the life of Chris Kyle, “American Sniper” has been a great movie experience all together. We cannot be more excited with Bradley Cooper being nominated for his performance.
Also in the running are “Whiplash” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, which makes quite an interesting fight for the most coveted category of Ocsars!
